Quick tip: network stealth
Have you ever had a reason to “hide” your computer and prevent it from appearing in the Network Neighborhood list? 
Just in case, here’s a quick way to do it:
1. Click Start -> Run…, type cmd and click OK.
2. In the command prompt box type the following command:
net config server /hidden:yes
3. Your Windows XP computer will now be hidden in the Network Neighborhood.
