TechEd, quick overview

I’ve been extremely busy during the last week. I’ve started to write a longer review of my trip to TechEd-Developers in Barcelona, and I’ll post it as soon as it’s done. For now, here’s a set of pictures I took while being there.

Back from TechEd, Photosynth preview

We recently got back from TechEd. I’m in Bucharest right now, I’ll be back in Cluj tomorrow morning, and I’ll start blogging about how it was. I’ve also got quite a few pictures (most of them are online, but I still need to sort them a bit). For now, I have one more day to spend around Bucharest, and then I’ll be going home.

Until then, here’s something to keep you busy for a while: Microsoft Live Labs – Photosynth (quite an amazing thing from Microsoft Research)… :)

Going to TechEd-Developers in Barcelona

As I already mentioned in a previous post, I’ve received an invitation and will be attending the TechEd-Developers sessions in Barcelona next month, along with 6 other Microsoft Student Partners from Romania. As far as we know, there will be more than 200 Student Partners, Imagine Cup Students, Lecturers and ADEs attending this year’s edition of Tech.Ed Developers. Apparently, there will even be a private Student Partners event on November 9th. Sounds exciting!

There is also a blogging competition taking place, which requires us (Microsoft Student Partners) to have our blog listed in the Academics Section on the Virtual Side, and to post content and pictures about our experiences there in our personal blogs. At the time of this post, I had already submitted my blog, but it wasn’t listed yet. I’ll also look forward to seeing Ciprian Jichici there, since he will be holding two sessions at TechEd:

  • OFF203 – Excel Reloaded: Spreadsheets in the Business Intelligence (BI) Services World
  • OFF307 – Building a Business Intelligence (BI) Hub with Office SharePoint Server 2007

I’ll come back with another post on this topic before actually leaving for Barcelona if any new information comes up. :)

Pictures from my trip around Europe

Unfortunately, it is only now that I could upload a few of the pictures I took on my trip around Europe. It’s not all of them, but it should be enough for now. You can check the albums from Venice, Milano, Monaco, Lloret de Mar, Barcelona, Paris and Vienna on my Picasa Web Albums page.

Leaving for a while

I’ll be leaving for a trip around Europe tomorrow, so I’ll be away for a couple of weeks or so. I’ll be visiting lots of places, like Budapest, Vienna, Venice, Genoa, Milano, Monaco, Barcelona, Paris, etc. I’ll also be making pictures, and will probably post some of them here. I’m planning to take my laptop with me, so if I get a hold on a wireless network, I’ll probably check my mail and drop in a few lines on my blog…

My Eiffel Tower visit

As I previously mentioned, I was in Paris last week for a Microsoft internship interview. I haven’t had the time to edit the photos yet, but I did get a chance to put together a short video of my night visit to the Eiffel Tower. You can view my video here, but keep in mind that it’s filmed with a Canon A610 photo camera (and you’ll also get to hear some heavy breathing from my part, since I was too lazy to replace the background noise with some music or something).

This is my chance to send my greetings to Lidia Plesu and Razvan & Bogdan Hobeanu (I’ve also caught them “on tape”)! :)

Back from Paris

I just arrived home from Paris (where I went for a Microsoft internship interview). It was a really interesting trip, with many unpredicted events (among other things, I missed two out of the four airplanes I was supposed to catch). I’ll try and make some time to arrange the photos, and upload them somewhere. I’ll also write a short review of my trip during the next few days.

All in all, I’m back home, blogging again. :D
